Really Right Stuff my first choice!

Really? I was just at a landscape workshop in SW Colorado that had 14 people. 1 person had the Peak Design tripod you recommend and they had repeated issues with it. Not stable enough for moderate wind and rain, too picky to setup, etc. Halfway through I lent them my spare tripod (a Gitzo 2540) and they were thrilled. Of the remaining tripods in use, about 1/3 were Gitzos, mostly 2 series travel models like you list about, there was one Feisol and all the rest were Really Right Stuff sticks. For landscape you need something more robust than you are suggesting. Travel may be different, and then I could see some of your recommendations having value.
